Going Green

It's 2014, we have technology, and we have those concerned with the environment. We are going to try and utilize one and please the other. We are going green for our shows! No longer will you need to collect an envelope or stop in to purchase tickets. We have gone paperless! Just go online, couple clicks, leave us your name, the number of "seats" you need and that's it, you are done!

When it comes time to check-in at our first paperless show, which will be Bill Kirchen on Saturday May 3rd, all you will need to do is check-in at our concert entrance by giving us your name OR your confirmation email. We will check you off our list using an Ipad, give you a wristband, and allow entry into the theater. It's that simple.

And our staff is happy about the process as well. No more ticket stubs to fill out "just in case" you OR we misplace your tickets. No more envelopes to fill out with name, show, date, etc....., no longer will we have to sort through and keep organized 50+ envelopes for 4 or even 5 different shows at a time. There was definitely some work involved.

Now, what about those of you that like to have a physical ticket for keepsake? You might be out of luck. The one thing you might have going for you is that as intimate as our venue is, most musicians make themselves fully available after the shows. Whether for an autograph or a photo, some conversation or even a drink. Perhaps you could take adavantage of that opportunity for your memories? We sympathize with those that want some paper for the scrapbook, but it is 2014 and we need to change with the times.

So.....we are down to our last 3 shows with actual real tickets. If you are one of those that has a collection of ticket memorabilia, don't miss out on your last opportunities. Robbie Fulks is this Friday, and we are literally down to our last 5 or 6 tickets. After that, we have Andy Frasco and Sam Llanas. Both of these shows will sell out and are well on their way there.

With Robbie being nearly full for Friday, the next two shows following him are two of my personal favorites. When Andy was here last, at his intermission, he asked me what it took to get people up and moving around, maybe get a little dancing going in the theater? I told Andy he needed to take some lessons from Sam Llanas because that was the most people up and dancing around that I had ever seen in the theater. Well, I think Andy took that as a personal challenge, because by the 2nd song in, on the 2nd set, 75% of the room was up and moving around. Andy gave me a look, a nod, and a wink... mission accomplished!

It's been a long winter.  You deserve an opportunity to come out and have some fun. These next three shows definitely offer that opportunity. Trust me! It will be a blast!  Just a few dozen tickets remain for Andy and less than a dozen remain for Sam Llanas.

Andy Frasco and the United Nations ~ Wednesday April 2nd, 2014
Energy party blues. Five great musicians. Andy's show has the charisma of a Griffin House and the fun of a Chuck Prophet. I can see having him play here whenever he comes through the Midwest.

Sam Llanas, formerly of the BoDeans ~ Friday April 18th, 2014
Sam played to a packed house last year. He started with some solo material and then brought the band out after a few songs. For you BoDean fans, I cannot think of a big BoDeans hit he did not cover. His new stuff is great also. His new band mates are well suited to his style. They are a very tight ensemble.

  1. I understand the trend, but I do like a desire a physical ticket.

  2. Technology is evolving rapidly, and with it comes the need for reliable storage solutions. When it's time to upgrade, don't hesitate to buy hard drives to keep up with the digital age.
