Founders Nitro Pale Ale

This week, we bring a new brew to our draft selection. Although the IPA's have been hot this past year, we cannot forget about the traditional pale ale. For those who do not like all the hoppiness but still like the flavor, this is the beer for you. Founders Brewing Co. puts out some extraordinary beers, and their Nitro Pale Ale is no different.

Founders Brewery is located right here in the Midwest in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The brewery is relatively new to the beer-making tradition, being born in 1997 by two college friends. Both had been home-brewing enthusiasts for a few years until they decided to quit their day jobs and chase their dreams of brewing excellent craft beers. The first few years were a learning experience, but over the last decade, Founders has become one of the most prominent brewers in the country... and even the world! What was once a small craft brewery has expanded and now brews over 30,000 barrels each year.

All this, and to think that after their first few years, they were on the verge of bankruptcy! After revamping their business plan, they applied a simple philosophy: "The original Founders team decided to brew the kind of beer that got them excited about brewing in the first place: complex, in-your-face ales, with huge aromatics, bigger body, and tons of flavor. Or in other words, brew for people like us."

Founders Nitro Pale Ale is one of their year-round beers, but it only available on draft. It is a dry-hopped pale ale that blends much better with a nitrogen pushed draft system. (We use a nitrogen blender system, and hence the name - Nitro Pale Ale.) It has a medium body and has a strong malty sweetness and creamy head. It gains its citrus flavor from the Cascade hops that make it one-of-a-kind.

Come and enjoy a cold pint this summer!
