Wine Pronunciations

How many of you have ever gone out to a nice restaurant and been interested in a glass of wine - perhaps based on its price point - but have not ordered it because you weren't 100% sure how to say it? I know that this has happened to me in the past. That's just me though, I get embarrassed easily. But hey, if it happens to me, I'm betting there's a few of you out there who have had the same thing happen to you.... I understand, you don't want to look like an idiot.

Even for the most knowledgeable of wine connoisseurs, some names can be intimidating. Our wine list itself is very extensive, and I'm sure there are a few wines on the list that a percentage of our clientele hasn't even seen before. So, in an effort to ease some of those nerves, one of our former employees shared a link with us that should help you out with some common wine pronunciations. I thought we should pass it along to you.

After listening to the list, there might be 1 or 2 pronunciations on there that could be disputed. But it could be like TO-MAY-TO versus TO-MAH-TO... so generally it's close enough to not make you not sound silly.

How many of you pronounced or have been pronouncing wines incorrectly? Take a listen and let us know.
