First Show Announcement of '15:
The Return of David Lindley

A couple month ago, I was 2000 miles away in a Starbucks minding my own business, when over the P/A came the David Lindley song, "She Took Off My Romeos." I started to wonder what David had been up to. A quick look at his website revealed the appearances of a Midwest trip.

To have a random thought pop up, followed by the ability to schedule a show here, is one of the things I love about my role in the Playlist Theater. David has played for us twice before, but not since 2007 and '08. Those were the very early days, and at that point the biggest star we had hosted was probably Fred Eaglesmith.

For those of you unfamiliar with music, you have heard David Lindley a million times. His most famous gig was his many years, up to the present, playing with Jackson Browne. He has also done many stints with Ry Cooder, Crosby Stills & Nash, Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt, Ben Harper and Warren Zevon. He has been a major part of some of rock and roll's all time famous albums.

His solo career includes several acclaimed CD's: Big Twang and El Rayo X. Many cuts from these CD's you might have heard in a Starbuck's somewhere. He is also a Grammy nominee.

David's show is solo. He brings a plethora of stringed instruments, some of which I can't even pronounce. In the past, his show has consisted of some really great stories from primordial rock and roll, using every guitar in the buffet, and a quirkiness that only belongs to David. We are happy to bring him back.
