Mighty Leaf Tea

As the seasons change to the colder months, the consumption of hot beverages like coffee and tea are on the rise. There is nothing more satisfying than finishing a meal or warming up with either of these two. When it comes to offering these on our menu, we have always taken great pride in our coffee and hot tea program. There are several things that we require in order to provide the best tasting cup around. This week, we want to introduce a new tea product that we have brought in that we are sure you will enjoy.

Coffee and tea is no joke around here. We have always purchased both of these items from small, single source distributors. This is what the company specializes in, so a lot of effort has gone into making that perfect bean or leaf. This past spring at the National Restaurant show in Chicago, we came across the Mighty Leaf Artisan Tea booth. After sampling a few of both hot and iced teas, we knew we had to bring it here. Mighty Leaf has several different options to choose from and we found it quite difficult to narrow it down to the nine that we will offer. 

Here is what you will find available. Try one, try them all! From blacks, greens and herbals, these are some amazing teas.

Black Teas: High Caffeine

Darjeeling - Silver tipped black tea leaves yield a fruity and floral flavor. Picked in the Spring from a 140 year old garden.

Organic Earl Grey - Made of rich, organically grown black tea leaves and golden buds with a twist of citrusy organic bergamot.

Bombay Chai - This tea with a melange of spicy notes conjures the steamy, aromatic delights of an Indian street market. Black tea leaves with subtle hints of pepper, orange, cinnamon, cardamom and clove make up this chai. "Chai" is the Indian word for tea.

Green Teas: Light Caffeine

Organic Green Dragon - An organic dragonwell green tea from China with a slightly sweet, very refreshing liquor and delicate chestnut flavor.

Organic Spring Jasmine - Made of smooth China green tea leaves naturally scented by layers of Arabian jasmine buds.

Tropical Green Tea - A harmonious blend of sweet tropical fruits.

Herbal Teas: No Caffeine

Chamomile Citrus - Made of Egyptian chamomile flowers and subtle slices of citrus fruit, this vibrant blend and aroma will rejuvenate the spirit.

African Rooibos Nectar - Made with naturally caffeine free organic African rooibos tea, also known as red tea. This blend of tropical fruit and blossoms is rich in antioxidants that provide a calm, relaxing feel.

White Orchard - This white tea is from fruit blends of melon and peach. A fruity light infusion that will provide the health benefits of a white tea.

I must say, I had never been much of a hot tea drinker but in all of the samples that I have tasted from Mighty Leaf, this is really an amazing tea. There is such a difference in the quality compared to those bags you buy in the store.  Come try for yourself!
