Downtown LaSalle Halloween Fun

Downtown LaSalle will be hosting its annual Hometown Halloween this Saturday, October 25th. The festivities will begin at 10 am at the NewsTribune, where children can have their photos taken in their Halloween costumes. Each child's photo will appear in the newspaper during the following week. There will also be a Halloween costume contest beginning at 11:00 am in the parking lot of the Knights of Columbus. The contest will be judged and prizes given out for the best costume in different age groups.

Beginning at 11:30 am, there will be trick-or-treating at close to FIFTY! downtown business locations. What a show of support and community for just one downtown to have FIFTY businesses take part in passing out Halloween candy, while many of them will be open for business as well. You will not find that sense of community in very many small towns. This year, you will also find a hay maze and a petting zoo as the City of LaSalle continually ads to an already fun-filled day.

Kudos to all of downtown for their participation and effort to put on a fun day for the kids! Just look for the PUMPKIN in the window, and stop in for some candy. Yes, we are on that list, so stop in and see us! The weather looks to be perfect for this weekend so please come out and take advantage of it.

The fun does not stop there. You can cap off the day's festivities by heading to the Hegeler Carus Mansion for a spooky treat as ghost stories will be told inside the old mansion. Story telling begins at 7 pm. Click here for more information on the Carus Mansion ghost story telling session.
