They have not appeared here since 2013. This extremely talented band now plays with 4 sets of strings across the front, along with percussion. The look and the feel of The Band, their originals go down that road. I think last time they even threw in a few tunes from The Band. With the new look of this band, we are very anxious to see them. She is the Queen of the road, and her band is a band of means by no means. That should set the tone for Ms. Tess and her band. Miss Tess & The Talkbacks are a grooving rock ‘n’ roll band rooted in swinging blues, throwback country, and rockabilly music from Brooklyn, NY. Front and center in this tight quartet is soulful songwriter and skilled guitarist, Miss Tess. She possesses a voice that is, "alternately seductive and sexy, and is a pure joy to listen to." Four pieces.

The Dustbowl Revival is a Venice, California-based collective (8 musicians) that merges old school bluegrass, gospel, pre-war blues and the hot swing of New Orleans to form a spicy roots cocktail. Known for their roaring live sets, Dustbowl bravely brings together many styles of traditional American music. Some call it string band-brass band mash up. Imagine Old Crow Medicine Show teaming up with Louis Armstrong’s Hot Fives and Sevens, or Bob Dylan and The Band jamming with Benny Goodman and his orchestra in 1938. It’s infectious, joyous music... a youthful take on time-worn American traditions. Named "Best Live Band in LA" by The LA Weekly. This will be one fun show! Eight Pieces.

One of my favorites from last year. She is fantastic. Same phenomenal four-piece band as last time.
Some of these are repeats, and some brand new. Our new shows come directly from our California source that brought you Andy Frasco, among a few others. I have not seen either of these 2 new bands before, but they come with rave reviews from people whose opinions I really trust.

Thanks for bringing some excellent entertainment. I have been a frequent attendee to the concerts(shows) and have not been disappointed. If some of the old time Chicago groups and musicians are still playing I would love to see them. The Cryan Shames, Ides of March, Bonnie Koloc or Dave Mason would be fantastic to see again. Keep up the good work!
