Lobster Mac & Cheese

Hopefully the snow, ice and bitter cold weather are finally behind us. With our first hint of spring in the forecast this week, I'm sure many of you are starting to feel a little bit of cabin fever.

Allow us to give you another reason to get out of the house this weekend (along with a place to go) with our lobster mac and cheese special. We combine real Maine lobster meat and campanelle pasta (a type of pasta shaped like a cone with a ruffled edge, or a bell-like flower) with gruyere and sharp cheddar cheeses in a sherry cheese sauce. After mixing the ingredients, we top the dish with parmesan cheese and panko bread crumbs before baking it in the oven to give the dish its perfect crunch.

Lobster mac and cheese is one of those classic comfort food dishes. When I think of comfort food, I think of classic home cooked meals. And for me, having some Swiss heritage in my blood, I always defer to my Grandma's classic Swiss mac and cheese as one of my go-to classics.

Though we can't pass this dish off for Grandma's, we do keep that Swiss heritage by using Gruyere cheese (originating from... Gruyeres, Switzerland). In my humble opinion, you just can't truly enjoy mac and cheese without something Swiss in it! I guess I'm not so neutral after all...

So now that the weather has finally turned, there's no need to stay home and cook - or bundle up to get out!  Go ahead... venture out of the house, let us do the work, and enjoy some homemade comfort food in the comfort of your own... well, in the comfort of Uptown!
